Flowers as Food

Edible flowers are so fun to use and eat, look great in the garden and are easy to grow. While growing food, it is easy to be so focused on other parts of the plant that we forget to think about the flowers. One great example of an edible flower is my favorite, nasturtiums. You can eat the stem, leaves and flowers. The leaves have a peppery taste. In late summer they seem to take over parts of my garden. It is fun to garnish almost anything with a flower or two. I highly recommend it!

We would love to hear any ways you have integrated this plant into your own cooking and garden.
